For some reason, rainy weather puts me in a real funk. Today, it rained most of the day. This is a pic of the road I walk between my building and the main one in which most of the rest of the staff work. It looks particularly depressing when it's raining.

I arrived this afternoon to a clean, neat house. Within 10 minutes of being home, my entire lounge was transformed into a battlefield of tiny plastic soldiers. Happily, I didn't get too much complaint about tidying up, because I gave James, the eldest, a broom to sweep it up. He thought that was cool.

It's a long story, but here's the short version: since being separated from my husband, I've been doing his washing. Which is fine and which suited me initially, because we used to have a joint bank account and his buying a washing machine would've meant a chunk of my money being spent. But as time went on, it just became a little dysfunctional, you know? Hanging up his washing, seeing his new clothes, thinking about the new person he was becoming and the new life that went with that. Enough. Today, we went to fetch a washing machine that he's buying off my sister. Today represented no more ex-washing for me. Woot.
